Jewish Colorado

Denver Today - holds major sights of Jewish interest, authors and Jewish story tellers, Jewish Weekly Newspaper [IJN] - including a nationally acclaimed Jewish museum, a Holocaust memorial, and a restored home once lived in by Golda Meir -  a tremendous resource in the Center for Jewish Studies under the auspices of the University of Denver. The Ira M. Beck Memorial Archives maintains more than a million documents, 3,000 photos, 400 oral histories, and a manuscript collection.

An Orthodox community remains in the West Colfax neighborhood but 35% of the more than 100,000 Jews in Denver live in the Hilltop area, Greenwood Village, and the rest are scattered throughout the metropolitan area to Boulder, Colorado. For the traveling Jew seeking a Jewish environment, Denver offers plenty of synagogues of all movements, three eruv, two mikvahs, a growing Jewish Community Center, a few kosher restaurants and a Deli, Aharon Jewish book and Judaica and a calendar of events and activities. The Jewish Children's Adoption Network is the only Jewish adoption exchange in the Western hemisphere.  Founded as a not-for-profit organization in 1990, we seek to find appropriate adoptive homes for the 100 or so children referred to it each year!  That's 2 or more per week!

Denver-based nonprofit organization, today launched the

Ostensibly, you haven't "done" anything. But in essence, a most profound and radical transformation has taken place. The person has become a vessel for G-dliness. Of course, the purpose of a vessel is that it be filled with content; the purpose of a home is that it be inhabited. The Sanctuary was built to house the presence of G-d. But it is the making of vessels for G-dliness that is life's greatest challenge and its most revolutionary achievement. Based on the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe
